Dr. Marco Ribeiro is an emergency medicine physician and critical care specialist at HCA Houston Medical Center, one of the busiest Level II trauma centers in the Gulf Coast region. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Dr. Ribeiro completed his medical degree at the University of São Paulo before pursuing residency training at Baylor College of Medicine and a critical care fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center.Over the past 14 years, Dr. Ribeiro has led the emergency department through significant capacity expansions and pioneered rapid sepsis identification protocols that have measurably reduced mortality at HCA Houston. He serves as medical director of emergency services and chairs the hospital's quality improvement committee.Dr. Ribeiro is deeply committed to global health equity and volunteers annually with Médecins Sans Frontières. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese and is known for his composure under pressure and compassionate bedside manner with patients and families during high-stress emergencies.
