Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures include upper GI endoscopy (OGD) for oesophageal, gastric, and duodenal assessment; colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening, polyp removal, and inflammatory bowel disease evaluation; flexible sigmoidoscopy; capsule endoscopy for small bowel assessment; and endoscopic ultrasound for staging of luminal GI tumours and pancreatic pathology. Therapeutic endoscopy encompasses polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection, oesophageal and biliary stenting, haemostasis procedures, and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement.
