About This Service

SilverOak Health's Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Centre specialises in the management of complex, chronic, and non-healing wounds that have failed to respond to standard treatments. Our multidisciplinary wound care team — comprising wound care nurses, vascular surgeons, plastic surgeons, podiatrists, and endocrinologists — addresses the multiple factors contributing to impaired wound healing including vascular insufficiency, infection, nutritional deficiency, and metabolic dysregulation. Services include comprehensive wound assessment and debridement, advanced wound dressings, negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting for diabetic foot ulcers, and skin grafting and flap reconstruction for complex wounds. Our diabetic foot programme integrates wound care, orthopaedic footwear provision, vascular assessment, and glycaemic optimisation to prevent amputation — the devastating end-stage consequence of neglected diabetic foot ulcers. Regular multidisciplinary foot rounds ensure every at-risk patient receives coordinated care. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) — breathing 100% oxygen at increased atmospheric pressure — is available for approved indications including diabetic foot ulcers, necrotising soft tissue infections, radiation tissue injury, and refractory osteomyelitis. HBOT dramatically increases oxygen delivery to hypoxic wound tissue, promoting angiogenesis, collagen synthesis, and immune cell function. Our HBOT unit is staffed by hyperbaric medicine-trained physicians and nurses who monitor patients throughout each treatment session, with a strong track record of achieving wound closure and limb salvage in patients who had failed all conventional treatment approaches.
